Arete spends her final minutes in Azura's arms before she dissolves away, leaving the army to harden their resolve to take down Anankos. During her dying moments she remembers who she was and who Azura is. After the battle, Arete is finally dealt a mortal blow. Her last appearance is in Chapter 23, with a reanimated Scarlet in tow as a 'gift'. Arete battles them and escapes again after the battle. Azura eventually sees that the mysterious woman they met earlier was her deceased mother. Arete reveals herself to Corrin and the army. She flees after this encounter.Ī while later she appears again in Chapter 22 in a forest of Valla. The means of her appearance remains unexplained for a fair portion of the game, though it is eventually revealed that the Vallite king Anankos is able to enslave and command the dead, with Arete being one such servant.Īrete makes a total of three boss appearances, with her first boss appearance being in Chapter 18, still under an obscuring shadow. I know this is probably frustrating for those wishing to buy the book and expecting otherwise. So those wishing to buy the book to see all the official artwork should bear this in mind.īut I should mention, not every character has an individual illustration. When this news was announced, the game’s artist–Yusuke Kozaki– cautioned fans that the art book will not contain official artwork for every character.

In addition, there will be movie scenes, outlines of the storyline of all three paths, plus details regarding the world and story. The book itself contains 320 pages, which cover various character artwork, taken from in-game visuals (including the Private Quarters) and concept designs. Currently, it’s available to pre-order on Amazon Japan. It’s produced by the team behind the Tellius and Echoes books, and is fully supervised by Intelligent Systems. The art book’s full title is “Fire Emblem Fates: Visual Guide – Pellucid Crystal”. This information was provided by the Nintendo Dream editing team. To say it’s taken a while it’s an understatement, but the Fire Emblem Fates art book is finally fated to arrive on 25th April 2019, in Japan.
